80-1 Prestonaintalkin’ Reaches Sunderland Final

Prestonaintalkin’ reached the final of the Joe Hardy Memorial Trophy, as the second fastest qualifer. Despite missing the break in the semi-final Preston chased home Skywalker Gold.

Sunderland Saturday for PAT

He is drawn in Trap 1 for the final, which will suit him fine. He was advised as a bet at the start of the competition when he was an 80-1 shot. He certainly looks value now.

He has a big chance of winning according to trainer Jim Hayton! The final is on Saturday at Sunderland!

Viking Georgia Wins Easily At Doncaster

Viking Georgia had her first race for us on Friday evening and we fancied her, we punted her from 3/1 to 2/1 and this is what happened…

She won easily!

We also have a new dog, an OPEN RACE WINNER in Farloe Elder who we bought from the Barrie Draper kennel. He will be trained by James Hayton. He will run in open races.

Preston Bullit Wins at Doncaster

Preston Bullit opened his account with his first career win at Doncaster on Friday (9/9/11)….

He sayed on well and he certainly has scope to be a decent dog, he didn’t get out very quickly. We are excited! Preston Bullit…

Busy Week For Our Runners

We have five runners in 48 hours and one in a trial. Very busy, we are due a win (or two) so will we be successful?

Will we get a winner?

Thursday, 8 September
19:58 Newcastle, Ballencrief Boy, Trap 5
Consistent, but not had any luck, could be his night on Thursday! More in hope that expectation.

Friday, 9 September
Off to Doncaster and we must surely have a winner! (I hope)
20:02 Doncaster, Preston Bullit, Trap 1
Surely he will win this! If you saw last week he got checked and put his legs over the rail, and was 20 lengths behind, making up loads. He is still a pup and will be OK, but again we need a clear run. We will be having a nice tickle!

21:44 Doncaster, Preston Run Trap 2 AND Golden Fantasy Trap 6
Can you believe it? Two dogs in the same race! How ridiculous is that? Different trainers and don’t think it is great but I am looking forward to it! Preston Run has been dropped in grade but she is coming back from a break for a season. Golden Fantasy could easily win but he needs things to fall right. In time Preston Run will be the better dog in my view. It isn’t her night though.

Saturday Advance Doncaster Card.

Saturday 10 September
18:56 Monmore, Prestonaintalkin, Trap 1
Open class race and this dog has had the worst luck of any dog, he did a 29:54 at Doncaster, which is AMAZING! Now he has trap 1 he will be a BIG PRICE and is worth a small bet. ADVANCE CARD

We have VIKING GEORGIA doing her third trial at Doncaster on Saturday evening. The track has been dreadful (wet) the last twice so another week and a rained slowed time and we are laughing! Lets see.

Murlen’s Vacation is recovering from her chipped bone, but is doing fine! So that covers all our dogs!

Weekend Runners for Viking Racing

Hit

It’s a very busy weekend with FIVE of our dogs in action. Here is a rundown and comments;

FRIDAY 26th August

20:21 DONCASTER, PRESTON BULLIT, Trap 1
Big chance here for a pup in only his third race. He needs to get out, if he does he will be hard to beat. The 2 dog is the one to watch but I would say he has a BIG CHANCE but cant go overboard although I think he is a great bet.

21:51 DONCASTER, GOLDEN FANTASY, Trap 6 BEST BET
I think he will win Down in grade and if he runs his best time they wont see which way he went.  I genuinely think he will win this. Last time he raced in A3…> watch the race

Saturday 27th August

Firstly we have our new dog. Our big money purchase (well for us) from Ireland who we have changed her name to VIKING GEORGIA.

She will have her first trial. I think she will go well. She needs 3 trials but I hope she is too fast for Donny!

We have one race dog at Doncaster.

22:01 DONCASTER, PRESTON RUN, Trap 1
She has been in season. She needs to get fit again, but in time she will be a six bend dog. I would like to see a good run, but am not going to say she will win, would be a big surprise.

18:56 MONMORE, PRESTONAINTALKIN’ Trap 4
Open race. At Sheffield he got out quick but a dog fell over and he had to jump over it, chance gone. If he gets out well here he will be hard to catch. He ran well at Monmore last time, despite missing the break. If he wins here we will be laughing. I am backing him here at a good price.

Ballencrieff Boy Joins Viking At Newcastle

We have gone North, to the land of Get Carter and Ant and Dec and have a dog at Newcastle (Brough Park) which is running in A2. Ballencrief Boy is a two year old dog (October 09) and is a consistent runner and is improving.

He was offered at a fair price so we bought him and he will stay with Jimmy Fenwick who has done well with him.  We should also have a few bets at Newcastle too!

CLICK HERE for his race record.

NEWS FLASH….PRESTONAINTALKIN runs at Sheffield on Tuesday. News follows….

Life’s A Babby Joins Viking Racing

We have a new greyhound, a young bitch called Life’s a Babby. We didn’t name her, but we did buy her after her debut run in Ireland. She won in a time of 29.12, on debut, that is fast.

She is I hope too fast for Doncaster but initially she is with Janice Simpson. She will trial at Doncaster and if as I suspect she is too fast then we need to go open racing. We would like dogs on at Sheffield and we are looking at that as a strong possibility.

She should trial next weekend at Donny and we will know where we are then.

Rammer Lands Maximum 3/1 Bet

Trained by Jannice Simpson with whom we have three dogs, Rammer was advised as a MAXIMUM BET on the heavy going and he bolted up to land the spoils at 3/1.

Its all about getting the best information and Viking certainly has that! Remember you can join FREE for a month!

Our Dogs Update….

Well first of all I can report we have acquired our sixth greyhound. The deal is done and she will arrive with us next week. Until she lands I will keep her identity under wraps but rest assured this is a very good bitch indeed!

Viking Greyhounds Update

This weekend we have two of our dogs in action. Golden Fantasy is having a week off the card, simply to freshen him up. Murlen’s Vacation has her third trial at Doncaster and we can only hope she doesn’t go too fast. She is a smart little bitch at we need to hope she doesn’t go too fast! We could do with her in A3 to kick off with.

Preston Bullit runs in his first competitive start. He has been put in in A5 which is a bit harsh, in my view given his trial time. He is only a pup. In A6 he would have been a good bet, but this is tougher. I expect a good run but we can’t punt him with confidence.

We will have a couple of bets this weekend! News will be sent to members!

Eden Star Lands Maximum Bet To Win Puppy Derby

Barrie Dreaper

Advised last week at 5/4 as a Maximum bet, confidence was rewarded as Eden Star landed the Puppy Derby in from of he Sky Camera’s on Tuesday night.

Reoprted by the Racing Post; Trapping cleanly, the son of Top Savings unleashed an exceptional burst of early pace to quicken away from his big-race opponents. Five lengths clear at halfway, the Barrie Draper-trained railer held the brave challenge of Farloe Mysterio by a length and a quarter in 28.51sec.

There might not have been many people at Wimbledon – understandably so, with people in the surrounding area still on tenterhooks following the previous night’s London rioting – but a huge cheer went up when Eden Star hit the front.

It was an emotional success for the Draper family. Albert Draper, part-owner of Eden Star, died earlier this summer, and his son Trevor said: “That was a goodresult for the family. I might not be showing it, but I’m excited inside. It’s all turned out good on the night.”

Eden Star, similar in physique, colour and ability to his illustrious sire, is clearly already major four-bend force and, with ample scope for further improvement, seems destined to win further top prizes.

Eden Star, sent off 8-13 for the Puppy Derby, was the only winning Sky favourite on a difficult night for punters. Even Jimmy Lollie, a 1-3 shot, and seeking a six-timer in the sprint over 273 metres, was turned over, failing to recover from a stumble at the start and going down by a length and a quarter to 20-1 local Pigalle Star.
