It was a great night at Doncaster for Viking Racing as Preston Run landed a gamble, backed from 5/2 in to 7/4 and getting up on the line to score.

It was a big week for Viking with Eden Star landing a mighty ante-post touch, advised to members of the club, when winning the Betfair Laurels live on Sky. Another tip that scores!

Paddy Ya Boy and Boyneside Banty trialed at Belle Vue and will be entered in a puppy competition that starts Thursday. Paddy clocked 27.99 for his first look, very pleasing!

One not of disappointment, Doncaster did not put up any of our Dogs for the big St Leger final night live of Sky. Despit having 7 or 8 dogs that run week in and week out, and having done trials at 29.54 and 29.57, with Prestonaintalkin’ last time out contesting a Grade 2 final, they were deemed not good enough! The prize money at Doncaster week in week out isn’t as good as many tracks, Preston Run last night won £40 and the run money is only £15, AND as an owner you have to pay to get in to watch your dogs. In contrast to other tracks where not only is admission free but you are given food and drink! As owners we can feel very hard done by to not have a dog on the track.

Viking Cheryl has not been able to trial as the paper work submitted to Doncaster has gone “missing”. One may say that this is an absolute shambles. Last week I wrote to the track complaining that our dogs are being raced against each other.

Preston Bullit opened his account with his first career win at Doncaster on Friday (9/9/11)….

He sayed on well and he certainly has scope to be a decent dog, he didn’t get out very quickly. We are excited! Preston Bullit…

Consistent, but not had any luck, could be his night on Thursday! More in hope that expectation.

Friday, 9 September
Off to Doncaster and we must surely have a winner! (I hope)
20:02 Doncaster, Preston Bullit, Trap 1
Surely he will win this! If you saw last week he got checked and put his legs over the rail, and was 20 lengths behind, making up loads. He is still a pup and will be OK, but again we need a clear run. We will be having a nice tickle!

21:44 Doncaster, Preston Run Trap 2 AND Golden Fantasy Trap 6
Can you believe it? Two dogs in the same race! How ridiculous is that? Different trainers and don’t think it is great but I am looking forward to it! Preston Run has been dropped in grade but she is coming back from a break for a season. Golden Fantasy could easily win but he needs things to fall right. In time Preston Run will be the better dog in my view. It isn’t her night though.

Open class race and this dog has had the worst luck of any dog, he did a 29:54 at Doncaster, which is AMAZING! Now he has trap 1 he will be a BIG PRICE and is worth a small bet. ADVANCE CARD

We have VIKING GEORGIA doing her third trial at Doncaster on Saturday evening. The track has been dreadful (wet) the last twice so another week and a rained slowed time and we are laughing! Lets see.

Murlen’s Vacation is recovering from her chipped bone, but is doing fine! So that covers all our dogs!

FRIDAY 26^th August

20:21 DONCASTER, PRESTON BULLIT, Trap 1
Big chance here for a pup in only his third race. He needs to get out, if he does he will be hard to beat. The 2 dog is the one to watch but I would say he has a BIG CHANCE but cant go overboard although I think he is a great bet.

21:51 DONCASTER, GOLDEN FANTASY, Trap 6 BEST BET
I think he will win Down in grade and if he runs his best time they wont see which way he went.  I genuinely think he will win this. Last time he raced in A3…> watch the race

Saturday 27^th August

Firstly we have our new dog. Our big money purchase (well for us) from Ireland who we have changed her name to VIKING GEORGIA.

She will have her first trial. I think she will go well. She needs 3 trials but I hope she is too fast for Donny!

We have one race dog at Doncaster.

22:01 DONCASTER, PRESTON RUN, Trap 1
She has been in season. She needs to get fit again, but in time she will be a six bend dog. I would like to see a good run, but am not going to say she will win, would be a big surprise.

18:56 MONMORE, PRESTONAINTALKIN’ Trap 4
Open race. At Sheffield he got out quick but a dog fell over and he had to jump over it, chance gone. If he gets out well here he will be hard to catch. He ran well at Monmore last time, despite missing the break. If he wins here we will be laughing. I am backing him here at a good price.

All five of our dogs are in action this weekend, two will race and three will be trialing at Doncaster… Below is a summary of the action….

Prestonaintalkin’ – will run at Monmore in an Open Race. He got crowded out last week at Newcastle, he is a good dog.

Prestonaintalkin’ is a class dog and is open class. The track at Monmore could suit better, it is a short run to the straight and he has blistering early speed. We will advise members of his chances closer to the race.

Golden Fantasy was a winner last week at Doncaster and steps up to A2, in the best race on the card. He has been given TRAP 6 which is his best chance. He won on his second race for Janice Simpson last week and is very well. We will of course advise members of his chances.

Our other dogs are trialing on Friday at Doncaster. They have to trial 3 times to qualify to run at the track. Murlens Vacation has her first outing for us, and Preston Run and Prestom Bullit have their second trial at the track.
